Some of the Preservation Society's properties are open seasonally, so please check the schedule below to determine which properties will be open at the time of your planned visit.   All properties are closed Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.

JANUARY 4 – APRIL 2
 
The Breakers
Open Daily
House opens at 10 am, last tour admission at 4 pm, house and grounds close at 5 pm.

Marble House & The Elms
Open weekends and holidays, and daily February 16 - 19 for Newport Winter Festival.
Houses open at 10 am, last tour admission at 4 pm, houses and grounds close at 5 pm.

Guided tours offered every 15-20 minutes at all three houses during the winter season. 

The Elms Rooftop and Behind-the-Scenes Tour offered on weekends and holidays only, at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.

APRIL 3 - MAY 7

The Breakers, Chateau-sur-Mer, The Elms, Marble House and Rosecliff
Open Daily 

The Breakers opens at 9 am, all others open at 10 am.  Last tour admission at all houses is at 5 pm, houses and grounds close at 6 pm.

The Breakers, The Elms and Marble House are self-guided audio tours.  Chateau-sur-Mer and Rosecliff are guided tours.

Special note:  Rosecliff will be closed until 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 3 for the Preservation Society's annual Easter Egg Hunt and Brunch. 

The Elms Rooftop and Behind-the-Scenes Tour offered every 1/2 hour from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  Space is limited.  Reservations strongly encouraged, by calling 401-847-0478.


MAY 8 - JUNE 25

The Breakers opens at 9 am, all others open at 10 am.  Last tour admission is at 5 pm, except Hunter House and Isaac Bell House , where last tour admission is at 4:30 p.m.  Houses and grounds close at 6 p.m.

The Breakers, The Elms and Marble House are self-guided audio tours.  Green Animals is a self-guided tour with a garden map.  All other houses are guided tours.


Guided tours of Hunter House and Isaac Bell House are offered hourly, on the half hour, from 10:30 a.m.. to 4:30 p.m.  Guided tours of Kingscote  are offered every 30 minutes from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. 

The Children's Cottage at The Breakers will be open daily starting May 29.

The Breakers Stable & Carriage House (on Coggeshall Avenue) will open weekends & holidays beginning May 29.

The Elms Rooftop and Behind-the-Scenes Tour offered every 1/2 hour daily, from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Space is limited.  Reservations strongly encouraged, by calling 401-847-0478.



JUNE 26 - SEPTEMBER 6 (Labor Day)

The Breakers, Chateau-sur-Mer, The Elms, Marble House, Rosecliff, Green Animals Topiary Garden, Kingscote, Hunter House, Isaac Bell House and Chepstow

The Breakers opens at 9 am, all others open at 10 am.  Last tour admission at The Breakers is at 6 pm, and house and grounds close at 7 pm.  Last tour admission at all other houses is at 5 pm, except Hunter House, Isaac Bell House and Chepstow, where last tour admission is at 4:30 p.m.  Houses and grounds close at 6 p.m.

The Breakers, The Elms and Marble House are self-guided audio tours.  Green Animals is a self-guided tour with a garden map.  All other houses are guided tours.

Reservations required for Chepstow tours only by calling 401-847-1000 ext 165.

Tours of Hunter House, Isaac Bell House and Chepstow are offered hourly, on the half hour, from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  Kingscote tours are available every 30 minutes, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Brayton estate house at Green Animals will be open on weekends and holidays only.  The garden is open daily.

Newport Flower Show, June 25-27. Rosecliff will be closed on Thursday, June 24 in preparation for the Newport Flower Show.  From June 25-27, Rosecliff accessible with  Newport Flower Show ticket only--regular mansion tickets may be upgraded to include the Newport Flower Show, but there will be no guided tours of Rosecliff.


 


SEPTEMBER 7 - OCTOBER 11

On Christmas Eve, last tour admission at all houses is at 3 pm. 
All properties closed Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.
